Milan Fashion Week - Knee Socks Continue to be All the Rage

The first of the continuing trends to pop up at Milan Fashion Week was Knee Socks - sheer, opaque, patterned, knee socks and scrunched socks of all kinds. All images from Style.com, click the designer's name to see their full collection.

Scrunched socks and a very strangely unique double leggings look from Just Cavalli. It looks like leopard print leggings underneath sheer pants or leggings. What do you think of this look?

London Fashion Week Fall 2009 - Sparkle and Shine

Another trend seen in New York that continued on in London is sparkle and shine. Glittery tights and pantyhose as well as silver and gold metallics seem to be the most popular of the trend. All images from Style.com, click the designer's name to see their full collection.

Fashion Week Trend: Tights with Shorts

Taking a break from what kind of legwear we're seeing on the runways, I wanted to take a quick look at what they're being paired with. Often it's a dress or skirt. Sometimes, you can see hosiery underneath pants. And sometimes it's a pairing of tights under shorts.

At both New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week we've seen this pairing quite often. Usually the tights are solid black, or sheer black pantyhose. Occasionally there's a spot of color or pattern to them. Shorts vary from denim shorts with tights to dress shorts or leather shorts; long, short - there are a lot of different ways this style can be worn. All images are from Style.com, click the designer's name to see the full collection.
